Providence Wins Benton County Spelling Bee

Congratulations to Ryan Hoyt, a Providence 6th grader who won the Benton County Spelling Bee this weekend. Ryan competed against 37 other contestants in grades 3rd through 8th grades to win the competition.

Ryan spelled these words correctly to win the bee: barrow, nightingale, strategy, inane, lederhosen, hypocrisy, precocious, basmati, archipelago, prerogative, pasteurize, facetious, and narcissistic.

Ryan will now go to the Arkansas State Spelling Bee in Little Rock, which will be held on Saturday, February 28th, where he will compete against the winners from the other counties in Arkansas. The winner from the state bee will win an all expense paid trip to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington DC to be held in May.

GO PATRIOTS!
