The Jesse Tree
Submitted By Debra Guthrie, Patriot Mom
Patriot Moms,
If you are looking for a way to make your Christmas more meaningful, the kindergarten moms from Mrs. Moore's class have started a new tradition this year that we wanted to let you know about. There is a book called, "The Advent Jesse Tree," that includes devotions for each day of December. We had a moms night out in November, and exchanged Christmas ornaments so that each of us would have our very own Jesse Tree this year.
Mrs. Hilliard came and shared with us about how her family has a tradition each year of wrapping up each Jesse Tree ornament, and then each night of December, they unwrap one ornament that goes along with the nightly devotional.
This has been a great way to make sure we are keeping our focus on Christ, the true meaning of this season. If any of you would like to do a Jesse Tree next year, let us know, and maybe we can plan a Providence moms event next year to exchange ornaments.
I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Christmas. You all deserve it! We will take a break on the Patriot Moms blog until January, so we'll see you in a few weeks.
