A Most Special Gift

I love when God’s sends people into my path with a special message directly from Him to me. Over the past couple of weeks, in a variety of settings, I have heard several women sharing about how they have taken a full year to read the Bible through for each of their children. One woman’s mother did it for her and it is now her most prized possession.
As they read over the passages that year, they make specific notes about that child. They write dear messages and bits of wisdom in the margins. They claim each scripture for that child. When the time is right, perhaps a special birthday or milestone celebration, they present the Bible to the child as a precious keepsake. What an amazing legacy to leave for each of your children…that you spent an entire year pouring over God’s word with THEM in mind. Wow! I now have a Bible on my Christmas list. With the new year upon us, it is a perfect time to get started. I challenge you to join me on this journey. I imagine we will have some stories to tell as God uses our efforts for His glory!
