D6 Conference 1 comments

Providence families,
A group of Providence parents attended this conference two years ago and were encouraged that it challenges parents to accept their role in passing down their Christian legacy to their children. You can read about the focus of the conference below, and click HERE to learn more information about the D6 conference in Dallas, September 21st thru 23rd.
D6 Conference Focus
Current statistics indicate that somewhere between 60-90% of children currently participating in church programs are going to walk away from their Christian faith by the time they become young adults. When asked why, the primary reason cited is that they believe Christianity is hypocritical.
Why do so many young adults today, who once were involved in church programs as children and teenagers, believe Christianity is hypocritical? It’s because they were raised in an environment where Christianity was something you did at church but not at home.
According to the Barna Group, less than 10% of Christian households pray in the home, read the Bible in the home, or engage in any type of family worship or service at home. Christianity was never meant to be church centric. It is a lifestyle that is to be lived 24/7, especially at home.
That’s precisely what God is calling us to do through Deuteronomy 6. It’s time for the church, through EVERY ministry from children’s to seniors, to reestablish the home as the primary place where faith is lived, expressed, and nurtured.
