Zucca Toscana

Recipe

* 1 lb. spicy Italian sausage – crumbled (I used a different variety of sausage.)

* 1/2 lb. smoked bacon – chopped

* 1 qt. water

* (2) 14.5 oz. cans (about 3 2/3 cups) chicken broth

* 2 lg. russet potatoes – scrubbed clean, cubed

* 2 garlic cloves – peeled, crushed

* 1 med. onion – peeled, chopped

* 2 cups chopped kale OR Swiss chard

* 1 cup heavy whipping cream

* salt and pepper – to taste

Directions

1. Brown sausage in a pan over medium to medium-high heat, breaking up into small pieces as it cooks.

2. Drain sausage and set to the side.

3. Brown bacan in a pan over medium-high heat. Be careful not to cook crispy.

4. Drain bacon and set to the side.

5. Place broth, water, garlic, potatoes, and onion in a pot.

6. Simmer over medium heat until potatoes are tender.

7. Add sausage and bacon to the soup.

8. Simmer for 10 minutes.

9. Add kale and cream to pot.

10. Season with salt and pepper.

11. Heat thoroughly.

I know I’m not a current PCCA mom, but I will always be one in spirit. I thought some of the moms would love this quick and easy soup recipe as the fall weather settles in. It tastes even better than the Zuppa Toscana at Olive Garden! Give it a try!

The Great Garage Sale-Stringers Moving To Peru 0 comments

**The Stringer family has accepted God's call to serve in Peru with Extreme Nazarene Ministries. As we prepare, we're having a huge garage sale the Friday and Saturday starting at 8am. 1904 S 16th Street (off New Hope) in Rogers. Please come out and find some treasures!

God is doing amazing things in our lives as we learn more and more to trust in Him and seek His peace. In this pursuit of living God's will for our family, we have been accepted by Extreme Nazarene Ministries to serve in Tacna, Peru for twenty-six months as a Cluster Support Family.

Extreme Nazarene is partnering with Peruvian Nazarenes to spread the gospel and plant churches in an extreme expansion of God's kingdom in Peru. Their ministry model is exciting and effective. Peruvians and Non-Peruvians are paired up to work together in discipleship and church planting. They are given the title "40/40's" because 40 pairs are grouped together for training. After language school and training they are sent to their ministry cities in clusters of 5-7 pairs with a Cluster Support Family.

We will be a Cluster Support Family. Our role is to come alongside our six pair of 40/40s as they pour out their lives sharing the gospel. We will provide team support in the areas of leadership, spiritual development, hot meals, logistics, administration, conflict resolution and much, much more. In short, we will manage and develop community and help oversee their ministries.

We are sustained by your prayers as we live out Christ's command to participate in the Great Commission. Will you commit to pray for us? Visit our blog followthepeace.shutterfly.com and "Ask to Become a Member" of our site (upper right corner of this page). You'll receive updates by email.

In order for our family to serve in Peru for twenty-six months, we need to raise $83,000 in support. This works out to $3200 per month. This includes plane tickets, insurance, language school, an emergency fund and $1800 per month living expenses. Please prayerfully consider supporting our ministry in Peru with a monthly or one-time donation.

Donations can be made through Rogers First Church of the Nazarene • 4911 W Pleasant Grove Road Rogers, AR 72758 or by visiting our blog at followthepeace.shutterfly.com/support. Giving by these means is tax-deductible.

Genna's schooling, toiletries and other needs cannot be paid for out of tax-deductible donations per IRS guidelines. If you would support us for those items, a check can be mailed to Steve Anderson at 98 Deer Trail Road Rogers, AR 72756 or given through the "Personal Needs" link at followthepeace.shutterfly.com/support.

Thank you in advance for participating in God's plan to reach Peru with the Gospel of Christ.

Following the Peace,

Chris & Anndee Stringer
